Sparkling wineries and tasting rooms in Oregon
Oregon's sparkling wine is made almost entirely by the traditional method: a second fermentation inside the bottle, extended aging on the lees, notes of brioche and fresh cream. Argyle, founded in the Dundee Hills, was an early pioneer of the style in the Willamette Valley.
The region's cool nights and warm days now support a broader traditional-method movement, formalized under Method Oregon, a standard requiring wines to be 100% Oregon-grown, produced, and disgorged, with a minimum of 24 months aging en tirage before release. Producers avoid the word Champagne out of respect for its protected status, but the comparisons keep coming given the similar cool-climate, high-latitude growing conditions.
Robb Report went further in July 2026, suggesting the "Champagne of America" might be here in the Pacific Northwest, pointing to Method Oregon's 55 member wineries. Corollary Wines's 2021 Cuvée One Brut made the list at Seattle's Canlis, and Domaine Serene's Fleur de Vie Demi-Sec cracked Wine Enthusiast's Enthusiast 100 that same year.
It's a category still building its reputation outside the state, which makes now a good time to taste widely: the producers below span a full range of dosage levels, from bone-dry to the demi-sec styles built for dessert.
